COFFEE BREWING & ROASTING

What's the difference between Espresso and Filter Coffee?

Our coffees are very versatile and can work with all the popular brewing methods. We also offer to grind our coffees for you for each of these brewing methods. Single Origins work great on any filter brewing method thanks to their vibrant aromas and flavours, in particular the V60 or Chemex.

For any Sage or Espresso products, we recommend you go for beans that are geared towards Espresso for a more balanced and smooth taste. Take a look at our brew guides and roasting guides to learn more. Our House Roast works wonders with a Sage.

How fresh is your coffee?

Every single day, our coffee is lovelingly roasted to order from our Roastery in Stillorgan, that means that, after an adequate resting period (1 week), we've timed it so that it arrives on your door at the perfect time to brew. A little rest but not too much so you have the perfect, aromatic freshness for your brew.

How do I select the right grind?

We offer to grind all our coffees for you for every brewing method (Moka Pot, Espresso, Aeropress, Chemex, French Press and V60). For freshness, if you have a home espresso machine we recommend you always buy wholebean. Whereas if you’re a filter lover we can grind the coffee depending on your brewing method.

Where can I find your brew guides?
For how long can I enjoy my coffee after the roast date?

We recommend brewing our coffees from up to 6 months after the roast date. The Roast date and best before dates are labelled on the back of all our coffee products. For freshness, if you have a home espresso machine we recommend you always buy wholebean. Whereas if you’re a filter lover we can grind the coffee depending on your brewing method.

Coffee Club

What is the Single Origin Roaster's Rotation?

Let us surprise you with a new Single Origin coffee every month! Our Roasters Rotation subscription includes a large selection of specialty coffee from around the world but only if they make an active effort to promote sustainability in the industry and pay their farmers fairly.

What Subscriptions should I sign up for?

Firstly, choose what brewing method/equipment you’d like to use. We offer four subscription products (House Roast, Roasters Rotation, Decaf and Nespresso Compostable Pods. We recommend choosing the single origin subscription if you’re a fan of trying our latest coffee and prefer filter coffee whereas if you just want a continuous supply of beautiful coffee we suggest you select our House Roast option.

How can I pause or cancel my subscription?

You can amend, pause or cancel your subscription anytime if you’re on our rolling subscription model by logging into your account or contacting us at shop@bearmarket.ie
