Bear Market, Coffee Shop Manager

Job Summary

THE POSITION:

Bear Market Coffee continues to grow and we are opening a new flagship store on South Great Georges Street, Dublin 2. We are looking for a a full time Manger to oversee the general running of the shop, staff and the coffee quality and constantly strive to improve the in-store customer experience. We are committed to the brewing and delivery of quality coffee by professional and talented staff. Bear Markets reputation and success has been built by the passion of its baristas for quality coffee and fantastic customer care.

Your main tasks as Manager comes under the following sections;

Operational Management

  • Make sure store operational checklists are complete and finished to the best standard.

  • Assigning jobs to employees and following up on work results.

  • Ensure availability of merchandise and services by stock taking, maintaining inventories and stock rotation.

  • Making sure security system is in place and
    measures taken to eliminate missing/stolen stock.

  • Ensuring safe cash handling procedures. Till is counted every morning & evening; balancing each evening

Training, Development and People Management

  • Maintain store staff by motivating, disciplining, orienting and training employees.

  • Making sure staff are busy at all times and have a proactive attitude.

  • Highlighting where training may be required and which staff members are developing for further roles.


    Customer Service

  • Ensure that client expectations of services are consistently met and developed.

  • Establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and giving best customer care.

  • Developing relationships with clients & going the extra mile

    Health and Safety

  • Maintaining a clean and safe store to ensure the customer enjoys the experience. Making sure the ambience is right with regards music, cleanliness and vibrancy.

Quality Assurance

  • Maintain professional and technical knowledge by pushing standards within the coffee industry. Continually monitoring and maintaining coffee quality in
    line with Bear Markets high standards. Responsible for continuing to improve
    and keep up to date with global industry best practice. Ensuring these best
    practice are passed onto all staff members and each Barista is learning and
    improving inline with the team so that each drink served has the same high
    standard.

  • Monitoring Waste on fresh merchandise to minimise waste and stale produce

  • Maximising profits by up-selling new items, cakes, guest coffee’s etc and training staff to offer more to the customer and educate on new lines.

  • Reporting to Directors on any ideas, problems, changes etc

Staff Roster & Holiday periods

  • Complete staff roster two weeks in advance maintaining hours within guidelines.

  • Maintain and approve holiday requests for staff.

Required Education, Skills and Qualifications

Fluent English
